PLANT SIZE: 3-4 fit
DESCRIPTION:
Environment. To maintain your poinsettia bloom, keep temperatures between 65 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure to protect them from dramatic temperature drops as this will cause their leaves to prematurely wilt. For best results, keep your poinsettia in a warm room and mist it daily.need warmth and light. It can be kept close to a radiator but it must be kept away from draughts.
SUNLIGHT:
Poinsettias need 10 weeks of 12 hours or less of sunlight each day to show color. For Christmas flowers, keep the plant in complete darkness from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. daily, starting around Oct. 1. This is too much work for most of us, so don’t feel bad if you compost your poinsettia after you’ve enjoyed it indoors.
WATERING:
about once a week;
In your home, put the poinsettia in a well lighted area away from drafts and heat vents. Water the poinsettia when the pot becomes lightweight or when the soil becomes dry to the touch, about once a week. Water the plant thoroughly in a sink, letting it drain, before putting it back where it was.
DO CHRISTMAS PLANT GROW BACK:
Be aware that commercially-grown christmas are often treated with growth suppressants to obtain a compact plant, but plants grown on at home will revert to their taller, natural habitat. No pruning or training is usually required, as christmas are usually discarded a few weeks into the new year.
